Customizing Total Compensation Statement
-
Creating the brand image of the Total Compensation Statement is integral part of the process. The Total Compensation Statement will not only be personalized for your employees, but equally important, the statements will be fully customized and branded to your company. For example, when major newspaper publishing company Knight Ridder came to us for their Total Compensation Statements, one of the concepts we created for them was a customized cover and statement package that had a newspaper theme.
-
Creating the layout, structure and design of the statement is perhaps the most involved component of our process. The way your company’s Total Compensation Statement looks is critical to how your employees will feel when they receive them. Going beyond the graphics and choice of colors, this process will be driven by how the headlines, copy and benefits will be presented to each employee.
-
The final aspect of this stage is to present the Total Compensation Statement to your key stakeholders for approval. Prior to this happening we will have edited, formatted, and laid out all text and graphics. Any further edits and/or revisions will be made, with final approval from your team before moving to the next phase of the process, which entails the personalization of the Total Compensation Statement for each employee.
Personalizing Total Compensation Statement
-
While we certainly do not expect your executive team to review every single employee’s data report, we will work with you to segment specific employees who have a certain set of benefits and making sure we have the right information for each of them. The benefits and choosing of employees will be based upon the categories that include but are by no means limited to everything from the health, dental and life insurance, holidays, vacation and 401ks.
-
With all that we have developed and accumulated to this point, we will proceed with the final customization and personalization of the Total Compensation Statements. Rather than provide one final statement to review, we will provide your executive team with up to three employees’ final Total Compensation Reports. Together we will work with your team to ensure that the reports are fully meeting and/or exceeding your team’s expectations.
Focus Group With Employees
-
With key stakeholders providing final approval, our last step, prior to having your company release employee’s Total Compensation Statements, is to work with HR to randomly choose no more than 10 individuals from various departments to participate in a focus group. Each employee will be given their own individual statement and asked to provide their comments and experience with the report. While we rarely find any major changes needed to the statement, this focus provides us and your company additional insight into how to best communicate the release of the statements.
